Tryouts for Oconomowoc girls youth basketball will be held on Wednesday, August 16th and Sunday, August 20th at the OHS Fieldhouse. Please pre register by clicking the link below.

August 16 @ OHS Gale Douglas Field House:
3rd, 4th and 5th grade - 5 to 6:30 pm
6th, 7th and 8th grade - 6:30 to 8 pm
August 20 OHS Gale Douglas Field House:
3rd, 4th and 5th grade - 2 to 3:30 pm
6th, 7th and 8th grade - 3:30 to 5 pm
There will be a $10.00 fee charged for the tryout. (Cash or checks made payable to OYB will be collected at the check in table prior to the tryout.)
Girls are encouraged to attend both try out dates. If they are unable to attend both, one of the dates is required to have a fair opportunity to make a team. Each girl will receive an Oconomowoc basketball t-shirt with a number on the back for the tryout. She should wear it to all of the tryout dates she attends.

Tryouts will be held on Saturday, August 19 and Sunday, August 20, with a make up date on Wednesday, August 23 at OHS Field House. Anyone interested in playing for OYB for the 23-24 season should attend. We can't wait to see you all at tryouts.

Wednesday, August 23 (Make up date - only attend if you missed the other two dates):

Tryout fee is $10 (cash or check made out to OYB) includes tryout shirt.
Your child only needs to attend one of the tryout dates to be considered for an OYB team.
Brief informational meeting will take place for parents during your son's tryout in the OHS cafeteria.

This summer we encourage all girls to participate in our summer Raccoon Shooting Challenge!
Purpose: To give girls a goal to “shoot” for this summer, and become overall better shooters.
Below is the link to the summer shooting challenge that starts today. You can either use the paper copy or the google sheet to keep track of made shots each day. By clicking on this link you will be prompted to make a copy. Please enter your daughter's name and grade in the name of the google sheet so when you submit it at the end of the summer (Aug. 31st) we know who's it is!

1. Try to shoot at least 100 shots per day. (This may vary by grade level and stamina:))
2. Record the number of shots made and date for each day you shoot.
3. Submit your online copy with your daughter's name and grade in the file name to oconomowocgirlsbasketball@gmail.com by August 31st to be eligible for a prize.

The Oconomowoc High School Girls Basketball Camp will offer sessions for girls entering grades three through eight. The camp for grades 3 & 4, and 5 & 6 will be structured in a four day, week long camp. Grades 7 & 8 will be two days a week beginning in the middle of June.
Each day of camp will consist of warm-up, individual skill work, team play, and competitions. The focus of the camp is to improve individual fundamentals like ball handling, passing, shooting, defense and overall knowledge of the game.
The Oconomowoc Girls Basketball Camp will offer youth athletes:

The Oconomowoc High School boys’ basketball team will be conducting a camp to help youth basketball players work on the fundamentals of basketball. During these sessions, we will be working on shooting, dribbling, passing, defense, and teamwork. We will discuss what it takes to be a successful player and to have fun playing the game of basketball. There will also be some competitions to test their skills and show the importance of sportsmanship. This will be a great opportunity for each player to get individual attention from our players and coaches and to have fun learning the fundamentals of basketball.
Staff for this clinic will include Varsity Boy’s Coach, Jay Benish, Varsity Assistant Coaches, Jon Fischer and Greg Jefferies, JV Coach, JV Coach Tyler Enright, Freshmen Coaches, Austin Gifford and Ryan Kase, as well as the Oconomowoc High School Players. All players who register before the deadline will receive an Oconomowoc Basketball shirt, the camp fee also includes the summer shooting program.

We are excited to offer a Spring Shooting Camp in May! This camp is for boys in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade, May 8, 9, 17, & 18 in the OHS Field House from 6-7 pm each evening. Obviously, it's a busy time of year and we would love for you to come to all 4 sessions but if you have to miss one or two to compete in other sports or events, just let us know.
The camp will provide instruction on the fundamental skills of shooting in a competitive setting. Each player will be provided 1 on 1 instructional feedback and video analysis on their shooting form and fundamentals. This is an area that all players in our program need to become more consistent with, so we encourage you all to attend!
- The fee is $60 and can be paid on the first night of camp. Cash or Checks made out to OYB.
- We will start right at 6 pm, so we can maximize our time.
- Players can bring their own ball or use one of ours.
- We will provide a shooting workout for the players that they can use throughout the spring and summer!
- They will also receive an Ocon basketball item and Bucks hat.

We are excited to partner with Dream Hoops to bring a 3v3 basketball league to Oconomowoc High School in April! This league will be for 3rd-12th grade boys and girls and is open to anyone that would like to play. Games will be on Sunday afternoons on April 16, 23, 30, and May 7 at Oconomowoc High School. The attached flyers have more information on how to get signed up. Feel free to pass it on to anyone that might be interested. Get your team registered today!!
